can you put bigger weels on the slash???????????/

  2. admin says:

    Hi Noah,

Do you mean in width or diameter?

If you could, I would probably not myself.

If you go with a larger diameter you need to change more than just the rubber and you will also increase your center of gravity. This will reduce your cornering ability but increase your ground clearance, no big advantage. If you want to run over bigger stuff get a monster truck or crawler!

If you can find a tire that is wider you may get rub on the body when in wheel lock or before and you also increase drag of the truck due to the larger surface area.

Traxxas know their stuff and would have tested multiple wheel and tire combination over the years and would only put the Slash on the market with the best possible combination for performance.

  3. Noah says:

I mean width you know just because i’ve seen the slash in person and of course i see it on the computer and it just looks like there way too thin

  4. admin says:

    Hi Noah,

You can put wider rubber on a slash, there are many wheels on the market that will fit. Depending on your needs and personal preference it is best to experiment.

Just make sure you trim your body so you avoid wheel rub.

One of the main reasons Traxxas use the width of wheel they do is to keep the truck super agile for quick changing of direction when you are racing.

  5. Noah says:

but you could get better mabey made tires that are the same width and diameter right? that are for for some other 1:10 scale electric short course race truck like the sc10 from Team associated right? Becuase I know traxxas is pretty good company but we can all say that AE probably makes better tires mabey that last a little bit longer and probably have more traction too. (I just watched that video where that guy is opening up a brand new traxxas slash it looked so beautiful lol)

    For sure Noah!

You can always try different manufactures tires that are the same dimensions. You will find different compounds and patterns will work in different conditions and will compliment your driving style as well. If you get into racing and the chances are you will when the addiction runs 24hrs a day through your blood, tire selection will become a big part of the game!

However if you resist the racing community, you will find it best to go for a tire that has a harder compound so it will last longer and save you money!

  7. Noah says:

does the slash have ok handling? it looks like it wouldn’t.

  8. admin says:

    Hi Noah,
They handle like the real thing.
Lots of body roll but the tires are stuck to the ground thanks to the long travel suspension, they squat when you accelerate and dive on braking. They are a 2wd truck so they can be really loose in their handling but are a heck of a lot of fun to drive!!!!

  9. Noah says:

if somone were to just fooling around not knowing where the heck your going to drive the truck, what would be better the slash or E revo? is the E revo too much work because it’s a 4wd truck if it does is it a lot would the work you might have to do reguraly cost a lot? ( your being ask this question by somone who doesn’t have a lot of cash) does all the fancy stuff on the E revo pay off and make it better than the slash? And does it matter if the truck is 4wd or 2wd if you will be doing stuff like what I’ll be doing to the truck basically anything on road, off road, ect. And last but not least becuase I know i ask a lot of questions does it really suck that you have too put in 2 batteries too have the E revo work normaly.

    Hi Noah,

For a recreational just fooling around truck on a budget I would go with the Slash. This is the market Traxxas wanted to cover when they released this truck, an all purpose recreational race ready unit. It is safe to say that is what they delivered! The 2wd unit will be more than capable of handling what you can throw at it I am sure.

The e revo is a top of the line masterpiece 4wd unit if you can stretch your budge. Keep in mind, in general maintaining a 4wd run rc will cost you more to keep going. Consider the e revo has two motors and two batteries as well, when one battery or motor goes chances are the other is ready to be replaced as well. Again if money is an issue I would go with the Slash to make sure you stay enjoying instead of looking for money to get you back out enjoying your truck.

Putting two batteries into the e revo is not a big deal.

Let us know if you have any other questions Noah.

    does that cooling fan work????

  12. Noah says:

why isn’t the 1/16 scale e revo on traxxas’s web site??

  13. admin says:

    Hi Noah,

The word on the street is that they could be expected to released to the public in mid June, 09!

    Fingers crossed!

  14. admin says:

installing cooling fans to keep your motor cool is a pretty good idea if you are running your motor flat out for a solid time period.

  15. Noah says:

do you think these 1/16 scale e revos and slashes are a better buy than the 1/10 scale erevos and slashes?

  16. admin says:

    Noah,
It is no doubt that these trucks will be sweet machines, like all Traxxas products. To really get give you an indication if they will be a better buy compared to their bigger bros in the 1/10 scale will be dependent on price.

On performance from what you can see on Youtube videos, these bad boys will be very popular. We are putting the 1/16 e revo on our list of trucks to get our little paws on!

  17. Noah says:

thanks i just measured out you know 11 or 13 inches its pretty small!

  18. Noah says:

do you think when you get your paws on these sick 1/16 scale traxxas trucks you could try to get pics like the 1/16 scale e revo right next to a 1/10 scale e revo and the same thing with the slash? thanks

(it’s just because like i was telling you i measured 11 inches and that looks pretty darn small.)

  19. admin says:

We will try and get those for you Noah!

  20. Noah says:

with the 1/16 scale e revo and slash you don’t think that the cars would have to take twin batteries right?

  21. Noah says:

because it looks like it does.

  22. Noah says:

with the 1/16 scale e revo and slash you don’t think that the cars would have to take twin batteries right?

  23. admin says:

    Noah,
From what we can find out they will. Everything we find about the 1/16 models is that they are the same as their bigger bros, just smaller! From the vids we have checked out, as you said, they look like they do have dual battery compartments.

    Things things will be crazy!

  25. Noah says:

  26. Noah says:

ya you know what i just saw a video and i saw one clip thing on one side and another on the other side…..so it takes two batteries but the question is if it comes with two batteries………
